My protable 80GB maxtor hdd wont work!!!
i have a maxtor 80 gb portable basics hdd and i broke the cord.i got a new one from seagate (the hq of maxtor) and it wll ony work in my crappy laptop and the older computers at school. it wont work i my home computer and/or the new computers at school. the cord is different in colour to the old one it has blue and green usb. my old one was just black. it comes up with drivers not installed usb not reconised evey time. please help i dont want to lose all my games!!
obviously the cord you bought is not compatible and possibly the wrong sort, I would take it back quoting serial no’s of drive etc in case they did give you a wrong cord, take the old one with you for comparison and ask them the questions??. you won’t loose your games. Check your USB ports as well make sure they a clean and working correctly, and USB drivers are up to date?
