How Do I Recover Data For My MAC Computer?   by Pinky Mcbanon

Your homework is due tomorrow and your Mac just crashed! Or you had some important statistics collected for a business report on your Mac and crash just made you work inaccessible! In both these situations, what can be done to recover the data?

This is a dilemma that any computer user faces at one time or another in his life and if this is the first time you are confronted with this problem, you may be totally at a loss. With just a few simple steps, data recovery is possible.

The first thing to do is to assess what caused the Mac to crash. Computer crashes can occur due to several reasons – either due to faults in essential hardware components like a bad hard disk or burnt RAM card or due to malfunctioning software.

If your Mac has crashed due to faults in some hardware component other than the hard disk – the solution is simple. You can simply remove the hard disk from the crashed Mac and connect it to any other working Mac as an external disk and retrieve your data. This is one of the simplest scenarios in data recovery.

If the Mac has crashed due to hard disk failure, the situation gets more complex. In this case, you could detach the hard disk, put another good hard disk in its place and start up your Mac as usual. Connect the faulty drive as an external drive. You can try to copy the data from the good portions of the disk using a disk imaging software and effect data retrieval.

Sometimes, even if your Mac is functioning correctly, you might have inadvertently deleted important files from the computer. To recover data in this situation, you may need to use data recovery software in order to undelete lost files. Many commercial applications available on the market can do so.

You can also try to get technical support from Apple to help you recover your data or approach a data recovery expert to help you.

Movies attempting to retrieve cherished nuggets of pop culture often stumble, either by appealing solely to the die-hard minutia enthusiasts or clunking up the batter with unnecessary additions to the base material.
