Microsoft Basic Optical Mouse 1.0A is not recognized by Windows 7 on my MSI Wind12 U210 Netbook.?
I installed the drivers, but it still doesn’t recognize the device when I plug it in. The drivers seem to be for the PS/2 port version, even though it’s a USB mouse… I’ve restarted since installing the drivers and it still not works. The light on the mouse turns on, it just isn’t recognized. I’ve tried another of the same model mouse, as well, with the same result. Other USB devices work, as well.
The light turns on because the mouse is powered by the USB port.
The PS/2 drivers don’t work because the PS/2 port and the USB ports are in 2 different I/O locations. You need USB mouse drivers.
